Spring Mantel Decor for Easter

Today I’m sharing my spring mantel decor all ready for Easter! It all started with a trip to Hobby Lobby – doesn’t it always start that way?! πŸ™‚ You all should know by now my love for Hobby Lobby is a strong one! I spotted the cutest moss green bunnies and fell in love with the mauve pink umbrella’s found in the spring section and my wheels started spinning!

The Haul

Click on links below to view some of the items I used….

Polka Dot Umbrellas / Easter Banner / Easter Bunny Head Picks / Moss Bunnies / Floral Bunnies / Carton of Moss Eggs

I grabbed two umbrella’s to use on each side of my mantel wall decor. Then I simply added a few florals and a bunny pick – SO cute, right?! This may be the easiest DIY ever – if you even call it that! πŸ™‚ Isn’t Mr. Bunny just so cute in there!? Loving these pretty shades of pink. Oh and those white, floral bunnies are on sale for ONLY $2.99 – such a steal!

I found this sign in the clearance section (only $17.50) and the pinks were a perfect match to the umbrella’s! It might not scream Easter but I just loved the saying and I think it works! The pretty flowers give it such a springy feel. So my theme is now florals, bunnies and moss….for the win! πŸ™‚ I had the little eggs and the floral topiaries from last year. Same goes for the two gray bunnies seen on the ends of the mantel – those were from World Market.

In case you forgot, check out my old blog post on how I stenciled these tiles here. Such a fun DIY and makes such a statement! Also, everything seen on this stool below I had from previous years. Only thing new is the carton of moss eggs. Makes for such a pretty vignette, don’t you think? And I’m kind of loving my casa beads garland draped around the stool.

So what do you like most? Have you started decorating yet for Easter? It seems early since it’s still freezing here but it is just over a month away so wanted to try to give you all some inspo a bit early! Time flies so fast that I feel like there isn’t enough time to decorate all the things! πŸ™‚ Now spring, let’s get here now – I’m over this cold weather!

Valentine’s Decor Gift Guide

I’m excited to share with you my Valentine’s Decor Gift Guide. Because let’s be honest, I’d rather be gifted decor than flowers or candy any day. So be sure to show this post to your loved ones because we all need a little hint, hint, wink, wink when it comes to gifts. Am I right?

XO Mini Wood Sign by House of Jason

X’s and O’s are my fav and this little sign is just the CUTEST. This would work great in a vignette or displayed in your master bedroom all year long.

Hometown Heart Signs by Barn Owl Primitives

I have this sign resting on our dining room shelves and I’m in LOVE. Where does your heart belong? Kristi can customize any state and the distressing and attention to detail on these are one of a kind. SO unique and definitely a keepsake.

Heart Pillows

Give me ALL the heart pillows – these faux fur and sequin ones from Target are simply gorgeous. Again, I think these would work great year round. Hearts just aren’t for Valentine’s day my friends.

Valentine’s Mugs

Target’s mug collection always makes me want to stop and grab one EVERY single time I’m at Target – and that’s A LOT! πŸ˜‰ I can’t chose a favorite but this blush pink one with gold dots has my heart. Which do you choose? This Hot Stuff mug is pretty darn cute, too!

Wine, Be My Valentine T-Shirt

Wine, you can be my Valentine any day. Haha. Loving this cute and fun Valentine’s day top at Target.

I hope you enjoyed my five favorite Valentine’s decor + gift ideas. Which one speaks to you?!

How to organize your pantry – farmhouse style

Today I’m sharing how to organize your pantry – farmhouse style! I have been dreaming of one of those organized pantries that make me sing hallelujah when I open the doors. If you follow me on insta, you know I have a thing for organization and strive to be clutter-free. I wasn’t always like this though so don’t eye roll at me just yet. πŸ˜‰ Trust me, when our daughter was younger I, too was just trying to survive and had crap EVERYWHERE. Fast forward, almost nine years and I’m ready to organize all the things!
Here’s what it looked like BEFORE….take a good look. It’s actually not all that bad since we just moved in about six months ago, you should have seen the disaster zone our pantry was in our old house. YIKES.

Now this IS NOT my normal “on a budget” post. I did splurge a little on some of the items and let me tell you why. I bought the cheapo Target One-Spot fabric bins in the past when I did a “pantry makeover” in our former home. They just don’t hold enough and do not hold up. I truly wanted to create something that when I opened my pantry doors I didn’t feel anxiety, and instead I felt a sense of calmness and helloooooo pretty farmhouse baskets. I mean, come on, cutest ever right?!

I also did my research when it came to getting the “best” containers for the cereal. I found some really reasonably priced ones at several stores for under $5 but read several reviews that said they were not airtight and left their food stale after a day. DID NOT WANT THAT. So, I read review after review and went with these containers I found on Amazon. Yep, not cheap for a set of three but they are amazing quality and I’ll use them FOREVER. Plus, I had an Amazon gift card that was burning a hole in my wallet so it got put to good use!

Now before I get into the details of everything I do want to preface that I did want a pretty pantry but not one that was over the top and one that I couldn’t keep up with. So that meant no pretty glass jars holding all the things. I just know personally, for me, it wouldn’t stay maintained and it wasn’t the look I was going for. Now don’t get me wrong – those pretty pantry’s you see on Pinterest are STUNNING but it wasn’t the style or upkeep I wanted.

ORGANIZE YOUR PANTRY – TIPS + TRICKS

Remove All Items

First thing when you decide to organize your pantry – take EVERYTHING OUT. I had to do this since we still had that yellow color on the walls from when we first moved in. We had our whole house painted, top to bottom but did not have our painter do the closets, etc. so that left out the pantry. So this was painted Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams to match the rest of the house. Don’t ask me why I didn’t just have the painter do the pantry in the first place? But now it’s pretty again πŸ™‚

I also take all of my packaged items out of their main boxes. So fruit snacks, applesauce, snack sized items and so on all get removed and stored inside the baskets. It allows so much more room to store things instead of having large boxes wasting space in the pantry.

Choose the Right Containers

Next, figure out what size baskets will fit on your shelves. Our shelves are 11 inches deep so I made sure my containers were just under this size. I also wanted to use different textures and styles so I went with plastic, metal and wicker and made sure to do different sizing so it was visually appealing. Practical and pretty, my friends. Say it with me, practical yet pretty. πŸ™‚ Ha. Anywho, since my theme was “farmhouse vibes” I went with black, white and some tan accents that are seen in the rope handles and wicker baskets along with some galvanized goodness b/c I LOVE anything galvanized. Using different size containers with different textures is key for a visually appealing space. I found all of my new storage baskets/bins at Target.

Labeling

I also decided not to put a label or little sign on my containers. This is totally up to you! I figured we are the only ones using our pantry so I don’t need to label it, right? Ha. Trust me, we all know where the chips are located. Wink, wink.

Sidenote: I think this makeover makes my daughter the happiest. I mean if it takes getting new containers to make pouring cereal more fun, then I’m game! She opened it up yesterday morning and gasped, “This is soooo pretty, mom!” Haha, she knows how to make me smile. Now let’s keep it that way, OK babes! πŸ˜‰ I know, I know. Stop talking already and lets get to the photos…

These white containers from Target were only $5.99 each – they are VERY spacious and hold a lot of things!
Β
I used command hooks to hang the fun tote and wreath on the inside of the pantry doors. While this is a bit impractical, it does look pretty so I don’t really mind when our pantry doors are left open anymore. Because let’s be honest, it happens A LOT. I can’t be the only one who has this problem in their household? Right?! I may sometimes leave them purposely open now b/c I just LOVE the inside of our pantry! Ha, it’s the little things people! πŸ™‚

A little secret….

Also, I will admit I do need to get groceries so I do have a couple empty or half-full bins right now. This may not look like a lot of storage, but it truly is way more than enough for what I need. I also love the way my pantry is laid out because I have a lot of storage on the sides where you can’t see in most of the photos – so that is where I store all of my paper towels, pop, alcohol, and so on! It works out well that I can “hide all the things” and still have a pretty pantry.

Shop the items I used:

Black Metal Baskets from Target’s Hearth and Hand Collection by Magnolia
Large White Storage Containers
Metal Buckets I found in the Target One Spot for $5. View similar metal baskets here.
Wire Milk Crate Baskets w/ Black Handles
Small Wicker Baskets
OXO Good Grips 3 Piece Airtight POP Cereal Dispenser Set
Hearth & Hand Eucalyptus Wreath
Kale Market Tote

PRO-MART DAZZ 3 Tier Can Rack Organizer, White
Creative Co-op Enameled Metal Bread Box, White

I hope I left you inspired to go organize your pantry! Even if it just needs a good cleaning – sometimes that makes all the difference! Affiliate links are used in this post, but all thoughts and opinions expressed are always my own. Visit my disclosure page for more. Now I have the itch to organize every single closet, etc….eek!

My 10 Favorite Things at Hobby Lobby

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hobby Lobby. The opinions and text are all mine.

I’m so excited to share my 10 favorite things at Hobby Lobby right now!

I know what you’re thinking….ONLY 10? I could make a whole day of it and share 100 things but for now I’ll do my best to keep it to ten. (Head to my Instagram Stories to see a couple more of my favorite things not shown here – I have a hard time following the rules. Ha.) Nothing makes me happier than a trip to Hobby Lobby. It’s hands down my favorite store for affordable decor and you know I love all things farmhouse and Hobby Lobby’s farmhouse game is ON POINT you guys. I mean seriously killer and GREAT prices. First things first, don’t forget to grab your coupon!

So let’s get down to it……

My Top Ten Favorite Things at Hobby Lobby

Favorite thing #1 Hello Sunshine bag

First thing I spotted and thought HOW STINKING CUTE IS THIS!! Makes me excited for Summer! It was available in two color options. Loving the shabby boho vibes.

Favorite thing #2 Three-tier Metal Basket Holder

I was SO excited to see this back at Hobby Lobby! I purchased this several years ago and it’s one of my favorite things to hold all of our school papers, bills, etc. Do you want to know why this is also one of my favorite things? Because Hobby Lobby shared this photo of mine back ohhh, three or four years ago on Instagram when I bought it. It was my first ever Instagram share by a company and it MADE MY YEAR!

Favorite thing #3 Galvanized Rope Bucket Shelf

OK, so this is my #1 fav, I had to say it! I have these in our home and LOVE the versatility of them. SO fun and for an amazing price! On sale for $22.49 – make sure you purchase when wood and metal decor is 50% off or use your coupon!! Here’s how I have mine styled in our home….

Favorite thing #4 Wreath

This gorgeous rosemary wreath is simple yet can be used in so many ways. I like resting smaller wreaths on a styled vignette. I also love them laying flat around a candle or jar. I even like how it looks paired with the mint vase as seen further below.

Favorite thing #5 Black and White Number Sign

Sometimes the littlest things grab my eye. I love the number 3, and this little metal sign would be the perfect addition to a gallery wall or tucked in a cute little vignette or styled tray. Below is where I have mine styled in our upstairs gallery wall.

Favorite thing #6 Clock

The clock aisle is one of my favorite aisles to walk down and just dream. Again, such great deals when they are 50% off. This one always catches my eye – gives off some fun farmhouse vibes and the size is just right!

Favorite thing #7 Farmhouse Chair

Come to mama. Um, pretty sure I fell in love with the clearance section and all things galvanized. These chairs are SO cute and would be cute styled alone in a cozy corner vignette or at a smaller dining room table.

Favorite thing #8 Beautiful Morning Mug

Doesn’t get any cuter than this and everyone could use this beautiful reminder each morning πŸ™‚

Favorite thing #9 Glass Vase

I love this jug and the price. Perfect to hold pretty faux lambs ear or cotton stems. The color is a beautiful mint color. It’s in the aisle with all of the fabulous farmhouse signs and decor.

Favorite thing #10 Round Wood & Metal Basket

This piece is so pretty! It was on clearance for $35.00. I have one similar at home that I hold extra pillows and throws in. Makes for a pretty decoration that could be used for so many things! And there you have it – my 10 favorite things at Hobby Lobby right now! I could go again tomorrow and do the same thing because there are SO many fabulous decor items and you just can’t beat the amazing prices and fun clearance items!

This was by far one of my favorite posts. Hop over to my Instagram Stories to see a few more things I just had to share with you! Everyone could use a Hobby Lobby haul every now and then right? Or in my case, weekly trips. Who’s with me?

Valentine’s Day Mantel

I’m excited to share my simple Valentine’s Day mantel with you today. Can you believe we are only a month away from celebrating the day of LOVE. I honestly was thinking about skipping over decorating for Valentine’s Day but as soon as I saw the black and white striped vase floral art print at Hobby Lobby yesterday my wheels started spinning! I had fun using what I had and buying a few additional things to complete this look. This mantel is SO me you guys. My love for black and white stripes is almost like a staple for me when decorating and I love to add pops of color for each and every holiday. Come see for yourself…..

Shop Products Used:

TARGET:
Gold/White Pillow
Pink Faux Fur Heart Pillow
Gold Candlestick Holders
Black Hearth & Hand Bud Vase Houses
Tassel Garland
Faux Fur Black Pouf Stool

Other Items Seen in Photos:
Black and White Striped Frames, Floral Containers & Large Floral Art Print: Hobby Lobby
Black & White Striped Pillows: IKEA

My number one advice for styling a mantel or any large space is to start with one focal piece and work your way through decorating around that one main item. I did this when decorating our mantel for Christmas and it really helps set the tone. Cheap effexor cost , go to our pharmacy!

So what do you think of my Valentine’s Day mantel friends?! I really love the simple look of the black and white stripes along with touches of blush pink and gold. So many fun textures going on here too. My new Valentine’s pillows from Target are my fav! Have you started decorating for Valentine’s Day? This color scheme is new for me. I typically go with red and white when decorating for valentines day so this fun new spin has me loving my mantel! Simple, chic and romantic for the win!

January Decor Must Haves

Hey there friends! Each month I’m going to share my favorite decor must haves with you. (This post contains affiliate links.)

Plaid Storage Bench

First up, this may come to NO surprise since I have been swooning over this piece on my insta stories all week. But really – how cute is this bench from Target?! And the sale price is pretty fab so don’t miss out on this! Cannot wait for this to arrive next week! I’m most excited that I can hide all the things inside. (Better known as, shoes. Wink, wink.)

Metal Arch Window Decor

Next up, is this gorgeous filigree arch wall decoration from Antique Farmhouse. I’ve been eyeing this piece to use above two of my windows in our sitting room. I found this idea from Jaclyn @shabbydesertnest on Instagram. I still haven’t purchased them, but they are on my wish list and think they would be the perfect addition to that room.

Stoneware Pitcher

Give me all the pitchers. I mean, really. How cute is this guy? Loving the subtle chevron pattern (who knew chevron was still in?) and classic feel. I also LOVE this hot cocoa pitcher too. The new Hearth & Hand line at Target really could get me into some trouble. Maybe this blog post should really be named “subtle hints on what to get Michelle for her birthday.” And yup, my birthday isn’t until July πŸ˜‰

Project 62 Line @ Target

I’ll take one of each, please. (Click on the link above to see the full collection) LOVING this new line. Modern yet cozy, feminine vibes.

Black & White Stripe Pouf

Come to mama!! Black and white stripes are my weakness when it comes to decor and this pouf just belongs in my home but if I buy another pouf Ryan may kick me out. Ha!

So which is your favorite? These are just a few of my decor must haves that I wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend!! Ours is jam packed but I’m so excited for a long weekend.

New Decor Ideas for the New Year!

It’s a New Year so time for some new decor! I’ve been good so far. Ahem, it’s been six days. πŸ˜… But really, I mentioned in my insta stories earlier in the week that this space needed something in the corner. It was a bit bare. A few people suggested a large potted plant, I liked the idea but wasn’t completely sold. So I used the idea, just on a much smaller scale. A black accent table and a wood house plant stand for the win! This wood house is from the new Magnolia Hearth and Hand like and I just LOVE it! It came with a terra cotta pot but I bought this separate faux plant to put in its place because terra cotta isn’t my style and doesn’t really flow well in here.
This is one of my favorite spaces to photograph because the lighting through the front door is killer! Vibrant white with black and gold accents with touches of succulents and faux greenery are bringing the modern farmhouse vibes! Am I right?! You can read more about our peel and stick wallpaper in a past blog post here.

This white cubby is one of my most asked about pieces in our home. I bought this at a local shop, Urban Farmgirl in Rockford, IL. If you haven’t been and aren’t local, it’s WORTH THE TRIP! It’s truly the cutest shop and her refinished furniture is absolutely stunning!

You can purchase the below “this is our happy place” sign here. It’s from Joyfully Said Signs and they have such fun options! This sign is a biggie and makes such a statement above our front door.

Shop sources below:

Target:

Hearth and Hand Wood House Plant Stand
Black Accent Table
Decorative Wall Hooks
Faux Plant
Urban Farmgirl:
White Cubby + Cotton Stem Wreath
Hobby Lobby:
Thankful Tote, Large Sign, Devices Sign, #3 Sign
Michaels:
Gold Hello, Flowers + Flower Tin
Copperleaf House
Go Play Outside Sign
Barn Owl Primitives
Be The Reason Someone Smiles Today Sign
Wallpops Peel and Stick Wallpaper in Shiplap
Have you been using some new decor in your home for the new year? I love sharing new decor ideas with you and there are SO many fun things out in stores right now. The new Hearth and Hand line at Target is so pretty. I kind of want it all, but my checkbook does not. πŸ˜‰ I tried to link everything above but if you have any other questions, please let me know! Have a great week friends!
As always, affiliate links may be used in my posts but all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. I only share things that I truly love and use in my own home.
