Sometimes I start to feel like all of my parties look the same because I’m BIG on re-using past party decor, but try to put my own unique twist on each of them. What I re-used from past parties: Yellow fabric, red chevron table runner, tissue poms, cupcake stands, pink stand invitation is sitting on, ornate spray painted stands, pinwheels, plates and flower vases. Sooo…what did I buy? The four polka dot/striped planters seen holding the cake pops were a score at Michael’s clearance for 1.99 each, tassel garland, the bright/fuzzy little round pom poms found in the Target dollar aisle, orange/white chevron frame, flowers and desserts. I had a few polka dot balloons and cupcake liners left over from Cami’s 3rd Birthday that were perfect!
If you by chance saw my facebook post last month when I spotted Hobby Lobby’s new chevron frames then you know I couldn’t leave without one. I decorated the orange and white zig-zag frame with some tissue fringe and eyeballs to make a little “chevy-monster” 🙂 I purchased the beautiful tassel garland seen on the front of the table from The Flair Exchange. I love, love, love it and seems to be all the rage in the party world lately. Spices up a table in seconds and you can customize them and do pretty much any color scheme. I ordered custom fondant toppers from the amazing Lynlee’s Petite Cakes, adorable cookies from Flourish Sweet Shop and monster cake pops from Lillycakes that were PERFECT and all oh so yummy! My friends daughter’s birthday party was the same day as my shoot so she decided to do a Monster themed party so I brought everything over to her party after the shoot! Worked out perfectly!
I also bought shimmer/glitter paper from Michael’s to matte the banner and food labels for a fun extra-touch.
Of course I had to have Miss Cami in the shoot – how could I not?! She had so much fun in the amazing matching monster tee made by the fab Rachel of *golden*. I mean really, isn’t her shirt the cutest thing EVER? Rachel can make this using any of the monsters 🙂 Sharon of Tutulicious sent me a bunch of adorable headbands a few months ago and this aqua and purple one was perfect for this! Skirt is from Target.
And then she started crawling like a monster…
And then the jumping began…
