Last month, I styled a twin girls baby shower for my cousin. So fun and a little different. Zebra themed parties are definitely popular, but you don’t see them too often for baby showers. I knew I wanted to do something different than the traditional pastels. A special thanks to Chelsea of Chelsea Corinne Photography for taking these fabulous photos.
It was a couples shower with around 75 guests held outside on a very warm day – but the sun was shining so that’s all that matters 🙂
First, the SWEETS. I styled a full spread o’ sweets inside filled with the most PERFECT sugar cookies from Flourish Sweet Shop (I mean seriously, have you seen anything cuter?!) and yummy cake pops from Lillycakes. I made the cupcakes and decorated with cupcake toppers to match the theme. Ribbon is my favorite; it just adds so much — as you can tell, I used it around many of the decor pieces and my go-to cupcake stand. A few of the hostesses made some yummy cookies and whoopie pies for some additional yummy sweets. I found the pink and lime mirrors at Hobby Lobby that I used as the cookie platters. Super cute! I created a custom banner that hung along the front of the table and used a zebra patterned fabric I picked up from Hobby Lobby as well. OK, so enough talking already, right? Here are some pictures…(Click on the photos to view in full.)
My fabulous hubby (now named The Sign Guy! Haha) made the fabulous name sign. Super cute and was part of my gift to the parents.
I made the pomander ball by punching out paper flowers from a glitter paper and pinning them into the foam ball. Love it! I added it on top of a candle pillar I had from home and just simply added some ribbon for a fun (but very time consuming) DIY. 🙂
I purchased a photo tree from UMA – Urban Materials + Accessories. (As seen in Oprah Magazine — go check out the site – really fun and modern decor, etc.) I designed little matching cards for the guests to write a little “Well Wish for the soon-to-be Mommy + Daddy” to hang on the “tree”. Thought it was fitting and kind of a feather their nest sort of thing. Turned out super cute!
Outside, we hung a clothesline across the pillars. My gift to them was the zebra themed outfits (minus the heart onesies) that I purchased from the fabulous AMK’s Boutique. So cute, right?! Love how it turned out. The home where the party was held is absolutely beautiful with a stunning pond and landscape. I decorated the white tent with parasols, paper lanterns and tulle. The little zebra’s I handcut and placed inside the flower planters are probably my favorite little detail. 🙂
How cute are the Mama & Daddy? Congrats Chrissy + Danny! Can’t wait til the little girlies arrive!
